The month of February brought many firsts for Sloan. She had her first Valentine's Day, her first belly laugh (which is hilarious, I might add), her first basketball game, her first birthday party, and her first solid food (rice cereal). She has also found her toes and will do anything to get her socks off so she can play with them. At times she gets distracted by her sock and sucks on it for awhile as well. She is a very happy girl and shows us with her squeals and screams. There is about an hour in the evening that she does this non-stop. It is so fun! She had her four month appointment and was 15 lbs. 10 oz. and 25 1/2 inches long. She was in the 90th percentile for both height and weight. She loves to stand (with assistance of course) and has now started pushing her bum into the air and getting her knees under her while on her tummy. I'm sure this is a progression into crawling.

Sloan's first Valentine's Day.

Check out how long her hair is in the back! This was a month ago. It now hangs down past her ears on the sides and into her eyes.

She loves her bumbo seat (thanks Brian & Nikki).
She gets to spend her weekday mornings with her grandma McDonald since Lisa went back to work. Grandma comes to our house so Sloan can sleep in her own bed (that was Grandma's idea). It is really nice for all of us!
February begins what we call "Birthday Season" on the McDonald side of the family. Between February 11th and March 12th there are five birthdays and then more in April and May. Of course with 9 grandchildren almost every month has a birthday.

She's loving her first party!

Sloan and her cousins.
Sloan and her cousin Zach on his first birthday. They are exactly 8 months apart.

Even party girls need their rest.
